The 16 metre Noordkaper ‘Emetha‘ had a rudder problem. Inside her steel rudder there is a wooden section that can be raised for shallow water and drying out on the Waddenzee. A reversing accident had damaged the bearing tube and let water in behind the glass epoxy sheathing.

After chiseling away the rotten wood and waiting for the good wood to dry, we replaced the wood and ply, resheathed in glass and epoxy and replaced the bearing tube in an epoxy bushing. New antifouling and the rudder is installed and off to DelfSail 2016
